Blizzard Entertainment has announced plans to build a 3 Arts entertainment center at Woollim Entertainment Center in Kyoto.
The entertainment center is located in the Shiraishi area of Kyoto, which is near the Japanese capital city.
The facility is expected to open in 2021.
The 3 Arts Center, which will have a total of three buildings and over 30,000 square feet of space, will offer entertainment from local artists and filmmakers, as well as from Blizzard’s global gaming and esports teams.
The center will be the first of its kind in the world, according to the company.
The center will offer concerts, films, and special events, as part of a wide-ranging portfolio of Blizzard entertainment, including the Overwatch and World of Warcraft franchises.
It’s the latest in a long line of projects from Blizzard, which has announced several expansions to its esports and gaming platforms over the past several years.
In 2018, Blizzard announced plans for a 3D gaming arena in Korea that would be the largest-ever esports arena in the country, and plans for an esports hub in Europe that will house a high-end gaming center.
