2018 20.07:47Traveller numbers are on the rise and with that growth, travellers may need to get even more expensive if they want to stay in New York City, according to a report.
The International Association of Airport Directors says its new survey shows a record number of travellers have used hotel rooms in New Jersey last year, as a result of the state’s tough summer weather.
Travelling by car is the most popular mode of travel in New Hampshire, which also has the most hotels per capita, according the IADD.
However, the IASD warns the trend is likely to slow, and there could be a steep price increase in 2019.
In 2019, New Hampshire could see a hike of 3.3% to 3.4%, said the association, which has not issued a travel forecast yet.
While the IAA expects to see more hotel occupancy growth, the group has not set a date for when that would happen.
“We expect to see a slight increase in new hotel occupancy, but we expect a gradual increase,” said the IAC.
“We don’t expect to increase prices for the average hotel room in 2019.”
