Black entertainment shows are returning, and some of them are doing pretty well, as is the trend with young people who watch them.
While the number of Black shows airing in prime time has been increasing for a while, they still lag behind their white counterparts.
Now, many are looking to make up the gap with new shows like the critically acclaimed Black-ish, and there are plenty of other promising shows coming your way.
Here are the Top 10 TV shows you might be looking forward to next year.
Black-Eyed Kids (The CW) After a four-season hiatus, The CW’s Black-EYED Kids returns to its regular programming on June 29.
The first half of the show centers on a new kid named Shauna (Linda Cardellini) who is a talented artist, but the second half focuses on her sister who is just trying to keep her head above water.
In between the two shows, there are also guest appearances by Downton Abbey star Downtonsons creator Chris Chibnall, as well as an unexpected guest star, Will Forte.
The Blacklist (FOX) This new Fox drama from creator Peter Weller and his brother James is the first in a line of breakout black dramas.
The plot revolves around a group of people who live in an alternate reality, where they have to take down a drug lord in order to survive.
The show is the brainchild of Weller, a former FBI agent who is now in charge of a large department in the Los Angeles area.
The cast includes John Boyega, who is an ex-cop and ex-CIA agent, and Viola Davis, who played the lead role in the Showtime series Black-and-White.
The Originals (Syfy) The original series is returning to Syfy after nearly 20 years, and its returning cast is among the best of the bunch.
The series follows the adventures of a group from another world, including a female cop played by Jodie Foster, who finds herself in a new life after being rescued by the FBI.
The new show stars David Duchovny, who recently starred in the series True Blood, as an FBI agent.
The Walking Dead (AMC) It’s hard to think of a more important television show than The Walking Dark.
In the comics, a group called The Walkers has been stalking and killing off people in the streets for years, leading some to wonder if the zombie apocalypse is coming.

The Vampire Diaries (The Vampire Dioceses) The Vampire diaries returns to The CW this fall, but it’s not the only show returning.

Black Mirror (Netflix) Black Mirror is another new streaming series that is getting rave reviews, and it will have a chance to be a big hit when it debuts in 2017.
Black, a sci-fi drama, follows three women who are living on a planet where they can be completely human, and they’re being targeted by a group who wants to control the planet.
The three women live on the moon, and the episode begins with them waking up to find a white woman sitting next to them in a hospital bed.
The episode then moves into a future where the two women are in their twenties, and we meet one of them as she gets married.
