The Philippines needs a $4 billion entertainment and recreation center to help boost the country’s tourism industry.
That’s according to a report from Phnom Penh-based entertainment portal Phnomiean, which analyzed data from major companies and sources including local governments and the World Health Organization.
Phnomieans entertainment industry needs $2 Billion to be ready for the arrival of the 2017 World Cup, according to Phnomian, which also says that a new entertainment center should be completed by 2022.
Phoniean also cited the 2016 World Cup in the Philippines as a successful event that helped grow the countrys tourism sector.
“It has been a fantastic year for the tourism sector in the country, and there are signs that tourism is starting to bounce back,” the entertainment portal’s director of research and policy, Aung Htay, told Business Insider.
“This will be the first step to bringing in a $3 billion entertainment hub.”
